DR. MARY KAY BECHER

Orthodontist Mary Kay BecherDr. Becher graduated from St. Mary’s University with a degree in Biology.  Graduating in the top ten percent of her class, she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1997.  During her tenure at Baylor she received several distinctive honors including:

Post-Baylor, she chose to attend the University of Connecticut Health Science Center to pursue a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, which she was awarded in 1998.  Staying on the East Coast to be close to family, she completed a 3 year orthodontic residency in New York at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, achieving her Certificate in Orthodontics in 2001.

Some interesting tidbits about Dr. Becher:

  • She has two boys, Ryan and Ian.
  • She was her school mascot at Llano High School (The Yellow Jackets-and yes, it involved a funny costume)
  • She played basketball for one year at St. Mary’s University.
  • Her favorite food is Thai.
  • Her favorite ice cream is Cherry Garcia.
  • She loves the mountains.
  • If she could have any superpower, it would be the ability to freeze time

MEET ORTHODONTIST DR. TASNEEM RANGWALA

Orthodontist Dr. RangwalaDr. Rangwala grew up in Downingtown, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia.  She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 with a Bachelor of Art in Public Health.  Moving to New York City, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2009.  Remaining in New York, she was awarded her Certification in Orthodontics from Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2012.  Shortly after completing her residency, Dr. Rangwala and her husband, Yusuf, made their way to Austin, joining Dr. Becher’s practice in 2013.

Some fun facts about Dr. Rangwala:

  • She loves spending time with her family and friends.
  • Traveling is one of her favorite things to do.  Before moving to Austin, she and her husband explored South America for six months.  Among the many highlights of the trip was visiting Cartagena, Colombia
  • She loves staying active, especially hiking and running around Town Lake.
  • Although not from New Jersey, her favorite bands are Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen
  • She is always in search of delicious food, whether cooking at home or traveling far and wide.
