Office Updates Relating to COVID-19

To our wonderful patient family,

Due to the most recent Center for Disease Control and American Dental Association recommendations to best protect you, we have decided to close our office. We will continue to monitor local and national recommendations and keep you posted as needed. As a locally-owned small business and part of this wonderful community, we take seriously the responsibility to help slow the spread of COVID-19 with an abundance of caution toward protecting our patients, team members, and families from inadvertent exposure.

Governor Abbott is requiring all Texas-licensed health care professionals to postpone all medical procedures, including dental procedures, that are not medically necessary until midnight April 21, 2020. This requirement will serve a two-fold purpose during this time by reducing interpersonal contact as well as helping us to reallocate the personal protective equipment in our office (masks, gloves, gowns) to the amazing people in our hospitals who are caring for those already affected.

If you were scheduled to be seen in the upcoming weeks not to worry! Dr. Becher or Dr. Gil will be giving you a call on the day of your appointment. They are constantly brainstorming ways to remotely monitor your care and continue moving forward with treatment.

The current recommendations do limit in-person visits to emergency treatment only. During this time, the term emergency has been strictly defined as any procedure that a patient would otherwise go to the emergency room to have done if we were unavailable. However, we are extremely thankful for the technology at our disposal! Dr. Becher and Dr. Gil want you to know that they are available via phone or FaceTime/video chat to help walk you through some at-home remedies. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or concerns regarding you or your child’s treatment.

We appreciate your flexibility and patience at this time and we are counting down the minutes until we can see you in our office again!
Please keep a lookout on our Instagram page, @mkb_ortho, and our Facebook page, Mary Kay Becher Orthodontics, for updates.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
